Google Apps

NC State email connects you to Google Apps like Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and more. These apps are also available as mobile versions. For details, visit google.oit.ncsu.edu. The apps include:
- Gmail: See the NCSU Email section for more about Gmail.
- Google Calendar: Use Calendar to manage your schedule, set up meetings, and sync class info from MyPack. It’s widely used across campus.
- Drive: Google Drive stores and syncs files across devices. It’s great for backing up assignments and collaborating. Students get 15GB of storage (as of August 2024); consider backups like the B: (ncsudrive) too.
- Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms: These tools let you create and share files, like Microsoft Office. Docs for writing, Sheets for data, Slides for presentations, and Forms for surveys.
Authorization
You might like to use your NCSU Google Account as a way to outsource authentication to third-party site. You might have seen the ability to use your Google account or similar to log in to various websites.

To see which third-party apps that have access to your Google data: visit https://myaccount.google.com/connections

You will need to use this to access certain university material. For example, if you want to read The New York Times using your school account (see: How do I get access to The New York Times?), you can use your NCSU email to register. The New York Times is then a third party app that you’re using Google to sign in to.
